Can I list my software products with SoftSearch?

Absolutely! SoftSearch is in business to help people find and purchase software, and to help software publishers make sure that their software gets found.

1. Just click on the Add/Edit Software link in the Especially for Publishers menu above, and follow the instructions to complete your listing.
2. Sign a SoftSearch Distribution Agreement allowing us to sell your software products. (For publishers where your entire product line has complex sales and integration issues, sometimes our Finder`s Fee Agreementmay be more appropriate.).
3. SoftSearch will place your products on our stores in industry specific and high traffic websites.
4. SoftSearch will arrange pick-up and shipment of your product directly to the customer.
5. You receive new sales revenue.

You will need the following pieces of information to complete your listing:

• your company name
• address
• phone number
• fax number
• website address
• email address
• contact names for your company and product(s)
• product name
• feature based product description
• keywords that describe your product
• system requirements
• pricing information

Your product description should accurately describe the features of your product. Please do not include any marketing hype. We have found that it works best for everyone when the product description focuses on the actual features of the product, since customers will be searching based on the product features that they need the software to have. The more feature focused your product description is, the more likely it is to be found. If it is the case that the customer needs to speak with you in order to make a purchase decision, then you will be free to provide the customer with any additional information that is necessary.

What are the criteria for software listings in the SoftSearch catalog?

There are 4 basic criteria that need to be met in order for software to be included in the SoftSearch catalog:

1. you must be the developer/publisher of the software application that you would like to list (sorry, but at this time we do not accept listings from resellers)
2. sign a SoftSearch Distribution Agreement allowing us to sell your software products. (For publishers where your entire product line has complex sales and integration issues, sometimes our Finder`s Fee Agreement may be more appropriate.).
3. the software application must be available for sale (not freeware, shareware, or only trial, demo, or beta software)
4. product information must be provided in English (and if applicable, also in the other languages that the product is available in)

If you have a trial or demo version of your product available, please include this information at the bottom of your product description.

We do not list the following types of software:

1. freeware
2. shareware
3. trial or demo versions (we are happy to list the non-trial version of your software)
4. beta versions (we do not list products prior to their commercial release)

There are several websites dedicated to shareware and freeware products, and although SoftSearch is not one of them we wish you every success with your product.
SoftSearch reserves the right to make the final decision about whether any listing submitted to our database is appropriate for inclusion. Does SoftSearch include non-English software products?

Yes, we do accept listings for non-English products. If your company would like to register its products with SoftSearch the product description must be provided in both English and the each of the languages that your product is available in, with a note indicating the language used in your software. For example, if you have Spanish language accounting payroll software, insert a comment at the end of your description specifying that this is a "Spanish language product".

Does the SoftSearch catalog include shareware and freeware?

No, we do not include shareware or freeware in our catalog. Our focus is on products that are available commercially. There are many sites on the Internet devoted solely to shareware/freeware that would be happy to list your products. If you have a shareware or freeware product to list, try doing a search on your favorite search engine for "shareware submission" for a list of websites that may be able to help you promote your product.

How long does it take for my product entry in the SoftSearch store to be processed?

Generally we try to have new product entries processed in 3 to 5 business days of receiving your updated product details and your signed SoftSearch Distribution Agreement allowing us to sell your software products. (For publishers where your entire product line has complex sales and integration issues, sometimes our Finder`s Fee Agreement may be more appropriate.).

If we are experiencing a higher than usual volume of requests, then it may take slightly longer.
