What happened to the search option SoftSearch used to have?
SoftSearch has changed our website to enable buyers to find and purchase software from
SoftSearch.

Where does SoftSearch get its information from?
Over the years SoftSearch has collected information from a
variety of sources. SoftSearch receives information directly
from software publishers, through our contacts in various software
associations, magazines, trade shows, catalogs, and other software
sources. SoftSearch now has information on over 64,000 software
products in 265+ software categories. And we are adding new
products every day!

Does SoftSearch have any shareware or freeware that I can download?
No, we do not. SoftSearch focuses on helping businesses find
commercially available, business strength software applications
that cannot be found in the normal retail channels.

Can I list my software products with SoftSearch?
Absolutely! SoftSearch is in business to help people find
and purchase software, and to help software publishers make
sure that their software gets found. Just click on the Add/Edit
Software button at the top of the screen, or the Add/Edit
Software link in the Especially for Publishers section on
the left, and follow the instructions to complete your listing.
You will need the following pieces of information to complete
your listing:
- your company name
- address
- phone number
- fax number
- website address
- email address
- contact names for your company and product(s)
- product name
- feature based product description
- system requirements
- pricing information
Your product description should accurately describe the features
of your product. Please do not include any marketing copy. We
have found that it works best for everyone when the product
description focuses on the actual features of the product, since
customers will be searching based on the product features that
they need the software to have. The more feature focused your
product description is, the more likely it is to be found. If
it is the case that the customer needs to speak with you in
order to make a purchase decision, then you will be free to
provide the customer with any additional information that is
necessary.

Yes - SoftSearch wants to be your distributor/reseller.

What are the criteria for software listings in the SoftSearch catalog?
There are 3 basic criteria that need to be met in order for
software to be included in the SoftSearch catalog:
- you must be the developer/publisher of the software application that you would like to list
(sorry, but at this time we do not accept listings from resellers)
- the software application must be available for sale
- product information must be provided in English (and if applicable, also in the other languages that the product is available in)
If you have a trial or demo version of your product available,
please include this information at the bottom of your product
description.
We do not list the following types of software:
- freeware
- shareware
- trial or demo versions (we are happy to list the non-trial version of your software)
- beta versions (we do not list products prior to their commercial release)
There are several websites dedicated to shareware and freeware
products, and although SoftSearch is not one of them we wish
you every success with your product.
SoftSearch reserves the right to make the final decision about
whether any listing submitted to our database is appropriate

Does SoftSearch list non-English software products?
Yes, we do accept listings for non-English products. If your company
would like to register its products with SoftSearch the product
description must be provided in both English and the each of the languages that your product is
available in, with a note indicating the language used in your software. For example,
if you have Spanish language accounting payroll software, insert
a comment at the end of your description specifying that this
is a "Spanish language product".

Does the SoftSearch catalog include shareware and freeware?
No, we do not include shareware or freeware in our catalog.
Our focus is on products that are available commercially. There
are many sites on the Internet devoted solely to shareware/freeware
that would be happy to list your products. If you have a shareware
or freeware product to list, try doing a search on your favorite
search engine for "shareware submission" for a list of websites
that may be able to help you promote your product.

How long does it take for my listing to be processed?
Generally we try to have new listings processed in 3 to 5
business days. If we are experiencing a higher than usual volume
of requests, then it may take slightly longer.

If you have an electronic/downloadable version of your product,
we would be happy to help you sell it. List your company and
software with SoftSearch, using our add/edit
your listing with SoftSearch page, and just check the appropriate
box to let us know that you have a downloadable product available
(the checkboxes are right after you add your company address).
We will then contact you about selling your downloadable software
on the SoftSearch website.

Yes, we can. If your software is not available in a downloadable
version, we can help. List your company and software with SoftSearch,
using our add/edit
your listing with SoftSearch page, and just check the appropriate
box to let us know that you would like to be able to offer your
product in a downloadable format (the checkboxes are right after
you add your company address). We will then contact you about
making your software product available in an electronic/downloadable
format and selling your software on the SoftSearch website.

Can SoftSearch help me sell my web-hosted SaaS (Software as a Service) solution?
If you have a SaaS version of your product,
we would be happy to help you sell it. List your company and
software with SoftSearch, using our add/edit
your listing with SoftSearch page, and just select Web as the Operating System.
Indicate the subscription period: i.e. by the month, year, perpetual.
We will then contact you about selling your downloadable software
on the SoftSearch website.

Absolutely. Take a look through the software available in
our store, we have a wide variety of solutions available
to fit your needs. Browse through our categories, or do a quick keyword search of the
store.
If you cannot find what you need in our store, fill out a Search Request Form and
let us know what you are looking for - either the name of an
application you need, or the features that you need the software
to have. We will look through our full catalog of over 64,000
software products and let you know what is available. And then
we can arrange the purchase and delivery of the chosen software
directly to you.

If you can't find what you are looking for in our software
store, take a few minutes to fill out a Search
Request Form telling us what you need. We will search through
our catalog of over 64,000 software products and let you know
what is available. We only need a software product name, or
description of what you need the software to do, to get started.
Once we have found the software that you have requested we can
arrange the purchase and delivery of the product directly to

If you already know the name of the software application that
you are interested in purchasing, and you can't find it in our
store, just fill out a Search
Request From and let us know what you are looking for. We
will then contact you with details about purchasing the requested
software.

What happens when I submit a Search Request Form?
Once we have received your completed Search Request Form we
will search through our catalog of over 64,000 software products
to find the right application(s) for your needs. Once we have
successfully found the software, we will either email or phone
you with the results (you can specify how you would like to
be contacted when you fill out the Search Request Form).
Your results will include:
- the product name(s) - if you did not provide a product name
and we found software for you based on the features that you
need it to have, we will usually find between 4 and 8 products
(your results may vary depending on the nature of the features
that you need the software to have)
- the product publisher name
- a description of each product
- product system requirements
- any pricing information that is available
Once you have decided which product is right for you, we can
help you purchase the product and have it delivered directly
to you. Some of the software that we find for people is more
complicated in nature and may require integration or customization
work to make it the best solution for you. In these cases, it
might make more sense for you to talk directly to the publisher
of the software application. If this is the case for any of
the software applications that you are interested in, we will
ask you how you would prefer to handle this situation.
The information that you provide in the Search Request Form
is used to help us find the right software solution(s) for you
and then to get that information back to you. Your information
will not be sold to any third parties or released in any other
way without your prior consent.

Is there a fee for submitting a Search Request From?
No, it is free to submit a Search Request Form to SoftSearch.
Of course, if you decide to purchase one of the software applications
that we helped you find, you will need to pay for the product,
any applicable taxes, and shipping and handling charges.

How do I buy one of the software applications that SoftSearch found for me?
If you are interested in purchasing one of the software applications
that you found through SoftSearch, just purchase online from the SoftSearch store, give us a call at 1-800-667-6503/604-681-0516 or email us at sales@softsearch.com and let us know the name of the product. We will have the product
delivered directly to you. In some cases customization or integration
may be required, and we can help you arrange this as well.

How long will it take me to get a response after I fill out a Search Request Form?
That depends on the type of request that you have made. Requests
to find software information based on required features take longer
to process than requests to find software information based on
the product name. Generally we try to have results back to you
within 3 business days if you provided a software product name,
and within 1 week if we are searching for software based on a
feature set.
On the Search Request Form we ask you to tell us how quickly you need to buy a software solution
(in the next 2 weeks, within 1 month, within 2 months, or within
3 months) to help us make sure that you get the information and
the software that you need in a timely manner. If your request
is going to take longer than usual to process, or if there are
any unforeseen delays, we will let you know.

After I submit a Search Request Form, how many applications will SoftSearch tell me about?
If you have submitted a Search
Request Form asking us to find software applications based
on a feature set, we will usually find between 4 and 8 applications
that look like they will be suitable. Depending on the nature
of your request, we may find more or fewer products that look
like they will do what you need. There may be some cases where,
for whatever reason, we cannot find anything that looks like it
will meet your needs. In these cases we will contact you to let
you know, and to discuss the available options.
If you have provided us with a software product name, we will
send you information on that one product. If it is the case that
there are multiple products with the same name, we will send you
information on all of them so that you can pick the one that is
right for you.

What happens if there aren't any packages that meet my needs?
If we cannot find a software solution that meets your requirements,
we will contact you and let you know. It may be a matter of re-evaluating
your original criteria and trying again, or choosing a near-match
product that can be customized to be the perfect solution for
your business.
